In 2014, I ran 30 half marathons and 1,100 miles, it was a long and hard journey, but it was possible with perseverance and effort.
The long journey to being an expert in product design & strategy has been interesting. I have been a software engineer, an engineering manager, a project manager, a product manager, a program manager, and engagement manager, and a sales engineer.
Moving from the back room to being customer focused and in front of the customer involved learning key lessons and making mistakes. It also showed me all the reasons why a decision made in one role might seem strange to a different role.
Learning how to devise product strategy and lead multifunctional teams has taught me many different skills. It is a transformation that has been worth it.
I'm grateful to all the teams along the way that helped me with the journey. This journey has shown me that we are all connected and with good relationships we can accomplish anything.
